My first Dwarf I have to live with....

Oh, what to say about my life-long friend...frenemy... yes, I think I hit it right on with buddy. Okay, so meet my buddy Bashful. We have, like I hinted before, known one another my whole life. In fact, we have been inseparable.

I have incorrectly thought that being shy was being humble. No, no, no.
Noteworthy thought: Being bashful is different than being humble. Difference you may wonder? No need, I have it right here: Humble is "Having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance." while bashful is "Reluctant to draw attention to oneself; shy". You are very welcome, I saved you 3 seconds from having to google that yourself:D

While they both go very much hand in hand, one is healthier than the other. You can still have confidence and be humble. Takes practice, yes, but so does all balancing we must do in life.

Here is a helpful quote courtesy of my cousin's facebook status. His timing was impeccable to say the least.

"True humility is intelligent self respect which keeps us from thinking too highly or too meanly of ourselves. It makes us modest by reminding us how far we have come short of what we can be."
-Ralph W. Sockman

This can't be a fairytale without a story right? STORYTIME! :D

Time all blends to me. (I'll explain when I introduce you to Sleepy; ) But about two weeks ago I would guess, I stumbled across a verse during an impromptu scripture study in the car. (It was a 7 hour trip so maybe not so impromptu but it makes me feel sorta spontaneous, so I think I will use it: }

The verse more or less grabbed my attention though it wasn't marked. In reality, not that this isn't; ), the verse that caught my eye was marked but by the time my fingers realized my brain was requesting they stop flipping pages, I undoubtably not on the page I was initially after.

To the point, the page I did land on had the unmarked verse. On that point, if scriptures could grab they could also slap, in which case I do think I felt a little knocked around when that verse got my attention. I should probably be better at highlighting because it may just be a sin that I never highlighted beforehand. (No, not really.)

...............................................................................................................................................................
...................................You may take a break and grab some hot chocolate..it helps with the dramatic effect...............................................................dun da da DA!!!

It was Doctrine and Covenants 6:36! Say it with me, "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not".

I said this scripture every time I noticed fear was the reason for my decision on something..which was a lot: ) Especially the "doubt not, fear not" became a sort of mantra when I doubted myself. So as for progress, this week I went out more often with friends and said yes instead of no to opportunities. (Explains why I went to Vegas on such short notice; )

Any mantra's that have helped you make changes in your day to day life?
